Description
In 2020, Hungarians around the world will commemorate the 100th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty of Trianon. As a result of the peace dictate, which was created in reference to the right of nations to self-determination, but at the same time mocked this principle, not only did Hungary's borders change, but - against its will - about a third of the Hungarian nation, including the Hungarians of the Highlands, found themselves in a minority situation. The Treaty of Trianon, signed on June 4, 1920, thus contributed decisively to the birth of the Hungarian minority community in Czechoslovakia and Slovakia. On the occasion of the anniversary, the Forum Minority Research Institute has collected and presents to readers in one volume the most important sources of the history of Hungarians in Czechoslovakia, namely from the establishment of the Czechoslovak state in 1918 until its dissolution in 1992.
